Finland participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Malmö, Sweden. The Finnish entry was selected through the national selection ''Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu'' (UMK), which consisted of a three introduction shows, three elimination shows and a final, organised by the Finnish broadcaster Yleisradio (Yle). Krista Siegfrids represented Finland with the song "Marry Me", which qualified from the second semi-final of the competition and placed 24th in the final, scoring 13 points. ==Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2013== On 4 June 2012, Yle announced that Finland would be participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 by announcing the rules for their selection process. Like the previous year, Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu (UMK) was used to select the country's entry. Artists were able to submit their songs to Yle from between 3–16 September 2012. One artist could only submit one song, while songwriters were allowed to send in more than one.〔 At least one of the main artists and one of the song writing team must have Finnish residency and performers must also be at least 16 years old by May 2013. On the 26 September 2012, Yle announced that they had received over 470 demos.
